Malaysians, of course

On Friday, I read an article by Cheryl Dorall's Second Sight entitled "Take one carpet and a broom" at page 17 in the Malay Mail. A conclusion she had was this:
"Malaysia is avoiding what is a fundamental issue to its sense of nationhood and citizenship. It must find a way to discuss race relations without the interference of political gatecrashers or rabid right-wingers.
It cannot sweep it under the carpet for very much longer."

Kept me thinking, when I said:

"Talk about race, we offend too many. Do we realize that many in our country are raised in a family of all races?"

While my thoughts kept singing in my mind, Anonymous said...
"My ancestors had Indian, English and Chinese blood, my children are married to a Malay, another to an Indian and another to a Sarawakian. What kind of family does that make us?? MALAYSIANS!!! We don't know how to feel any other way. Our people and race are so intwine that it's impossible and stupid to separate." (September 14, 2008 2:24 PM)

This is one who decided to respond. Love is in the air! Malaysians indeed. Continuing in generations. Experiencing is one thing, knowing many of similar experience is awakening.

Perhaps more of such sharing may shake senses on the dance floor.

That was in the old day, lah! Nowadays the Jabatan Agama will catch even if you hold hands with a non-Malay. Jabatan Agama want a pure Malay race (Indian muslim okay lah but not Chinese Muslim, eh?)

My race is only 400 metres relay. No problem except I cannot win...that Indian team can run faster than my team. Maybe I chase that mamak girl for sake of Malaysia, Ok?
